My name is Sarah Martinez and here you'll find my watercolor art prints!
I work from my backyard studio in the hills of Northwest Connecticut where I live with my husband Brook and our two sons, Leo & Beau.
The nature that surrounds our home and the sense of wonder and curiosity that my children constantly exude are strong sources of inspiration in my work.
I come from a long line of creative and artistic women and I have been painting for as long as I can remember. However, it took me a long time to believe that working as an artist could be a viable profession.
As creatives, we are often advised to be “realistic” and encouraged to keep our passions as a hobby. Thankfully, due to some very timely advice from both my mother and my husband, I began putting my artwork out into the world and have not looked back.
Painting and working with color feels like home to me - it is a solitary practice yet it is my connecting point to so many collectors, fellow creatives and collaborators.
"Although artwork is always a form of expression, my drive to paint is largely for the experience of the activity itself.
The act of being fully engaged in the process of bringing colors together on the canvas gets me into a harmonious flow state - it awakens my cells and relaxes my mind - it is an intuitive process and it is profoundly fun.
Through my artwork, it is my aim to bring a sense of this joy and harmony into your home."

Behind The Scenes
As Snoogs & Wilde has steadily grown since it's inception in 2011, my husband Brook joined me in 2024 in all things Snoogs & Wilde so I can focus on the art and he can focus on the shop and everything else! We didn't know it when I came up with the name way back at the beginning, but it turns out that he is the "Wilde" (I have always been "Snoogs", his nickname for me).
